TV

I visited with a young Christian male college student last week, and he asked me about television. I told him that I wasn't raised with TV in the house and that we didn't raise our children with TV. We didn't want to disadvantage them intellectually or spiritually in any way. He agreed that that was a good thing. He was raised with TV and watches video/DVDs regularly. He said he finally realized some of the ways that regular TV and movie watching affected him.
He is unable to concentrate as well in church or the classroom. He is unable to concentrate as well when reading the Bible or praying(personal devotions). He even thinks he is less articulate when speaking!
He already knew about the potential temptations from sex, violence, drinking, and general worldliness, but this was a new realization. He intends to severely restrict its use in the future.

I think he has just been enlightened as to why so many call it the boob tube!
