Back Home Again

We got home late yesterday afternoon from our vacation trip to the Northeast.  We drove our old van which now has over 220,000 miles on it.  Our trip mileage was 3840 miles!  Not bad for a two week plus vacation.  We are thankful for safety as we traveled.  Today we got back on the highway and headed west to Burlington to see our newest grand-baby.  Another four hours in the van, but it was worth it.  What a cute little girlie!  Congrats to Jake and Rachel!

Grandma and baby.

The two days on our trip that it rained, we were mostly on the road.  We discovered that we are taking on water in the old van.  The carpets were wet after both days.  We either have some bad seals or rust has opened some pores for the water to leak in.  We have a tendency to over pack on trips, so by the time we get home the van is an overflowing mess.  Oh well . . . .

We spent a night at Loren and Rita's on the way out.  The first weekend we spent in Rockville with Joe and Sandy, and the second weekend we spent in Vermont with Phil and Sara.  Good fellowship and an enjoyable, blessed time at all places!  It had been thirty some years since we were in Rockville, and had never been to the Clarendon Church.  We were thankful for the opportunity to visit both.  I will add pictures and a better description of the trip in another post.

Then Jacob went on his journey, and came into the land of the people of the east.
