Another Milestone

For the first time in my career, I have seen a transgender/dual gender pig.

*** Trigger Warning ! ***  Crude farmer talk!

The market hog was fully a gilt, but also had a pair of testicles!  We know they were real because of the digital examination that was conducted.  We treated ze with respect and sensitivity, and ze will no doubt receive equal treatment at the packing plant when ze is stunned and stuck.

I'm just not sure what they will do with ze's meat.

Our fire damaged hog building has been repaired.  CBC from Forrest did the structural work, and we did the plumbing, electrical, and gates ourselves.  We have already used it and all seems to be back to normal.  The pigs are indifferent.

After the elevator explosion at our local Co-operative, a surveillance video from a nearby business was posted to Vimeo and Facebook. Here is the link to one of the videos.  There is another one that shows it in slow motion.  The cameras just caught the very ends of the elevator, but it gives a pretty good idea of what happened.

The oldest farmer's wife turned 90 this month!  Quite an accomplishment!  The family gathered for a party to celebrate the milestone.

 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;

That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,

To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
