Sidelines

With about a total of 4 inches of rain over the past two weeks, we are still sitting on the sidelines waiting to plant the rest of our soybeans.  We made one round with the Field Cultivator on Thursday, but it was still too wet.  Then it started raining again on Friday.  The corn is all up and off to a great start.  The helicopter sprayed fungicide on the wheat this past week and it is looking good.

A week ago Saturday, son #2 and I went shopping at Bass Pro Shops as he was doing some last minute shopping for his backpacking trip to Utah.  I came home with a couple of shirts that were on sale.

I got Gus the first squirrel of he year.  He was pretty pleased.

I got to see my granddaughters three times in the past week or so.  Once for a birthday party, one a farm visit, and yesterday they stopped by before Amy's wedding reception.  We worked second shift and it was a nice comfortable job.

Speaking of weddings, it must be the season.  We were blessed to attend one Sunday, and we have three more to attend in the next four weeks.

When thou art bidden of any man to a wedding, sit not down in the highest room; lest a more honourable man than thou be bidden of him;
Luke 14:8
